“Creamy Peaks” draws inspiration from the dramatic yet serene contrast between snow-capped mountain ranges and earthy terrain. The thick, impasto texture of the white peaks evokes the tactile quality of fresh snow, while the rich browns and subtle pops of color (coral, teal, emerald) mirror the mineral veins and seasonal flora hidden within rocky landscapes. This artwork seeks to capture the quiet grandeur of alpine scenery—where rigid geological forms meet the softness of weathered elements, creating a harmonious balance between strength and tranquility.

Creative Opportunity

The concept emerged during a helicopter tour over the Swiss Alps at dawn. Sunlight hit the snowfields at a low angle, turning the peaks into glowing ivory sculptures against the deep umber of exposed rock faces. What struck me most was the interplay of textures: wind-carved ridges in the snow, rough granite outcrops, and patches of melting ice revealing streaks of blue and green mineral deposits. I photographed these details obsessively, focusing on how the light exaggerated the dimensionality of the landscape—this became the foundation for translating mountainous depth into abstract textural form.
